Infinite wealth In A New World

Chapter 264: She Is Alive

Chapter 264: She Is Alive

In less than a minute, a profound silence descended, thick with the weight of the young man’s words."How did she die?" Jinx asked, her voice dangerously level, turning her gaze toward the children who now looked at her with desperate hope.

"It was five months ago," Peter began, his tone dark and measured. "After you gave her the money, we moved to a decent apartment in the city—just like you planned. But in only a day, we were robbed. Gina, bless her heart, had instructed us all to hide in the crawlspaces. She stayed behind to fight." He exhaled, the memory clearly painful.

"They took all the remaining money and killed her, right there in the living room. It was quick." Peter paused, the grim details hanging in the air:

"After a month, someone named Voco came over and took over the apartment, claiming ownership through forged debt papers. He left us all on the street again. I made some desperate investigations and discovered Voco was the one who sent the robbers." Peter stared at Jinx, who had walked to a broken couch and sat down, a small, terrifying smile settling on her face, perfectly concealing the raging, focused killing intent that now pulsed beneath her skin.

"Okay, Peter... You know where he is, right?" she asked, her voice still unnervingly calm.

"Yes. He is the chief of this village. He’s untouchable here," Peter answered with a rigid nod.

"Okay... Is that why you moved everyone here? To be closer to him?" Jinx asked, moving her gaze to Lina.

"Yes," Peter confirmed. He added, his voice hardening with youthful resolve: "We wanted to have more money, so we can afford to avenge Gina."

"Why didn’t you reach out to me? That was five months ago," Jinx asked, a slight frown finally creasing her face. The idea that her family had suffered in silence was a bitter pill.

"We tried, but got nothing," Lina interjected, her demeanor suddenly serious. "Two months ago, we made enough money and sent a messenger drone to your last coordinates, but found out all the headquarters was destroyed, and Star Nation soldiers were all over the place."work. Voco is the weak link. With him, I can clean them up in one stroke.’

"Okay then, we will go to this party tonight. Today, Voco’s birthday party will be his end," Star declared, her voice cold with focused killing intent.

"What are you saying? Today will be highly guarded! Many powerful people will come with powerful guards," Peter pleaded, terrified of their sudden recklessness.

"Fufufu... Just watch the show, kid," Jinx said, her small smile entirely vanishing, replaced by lethal intent. "I will personally take care of Voco."

"Jinx... a word." Star walked toward Sunny, beckoning Jinx to join them. Once together, she addressed Sunny:

"He said tonight. But Patrick’s funeral is tonight. Josephine and Ellen need you there."

"No," Sunny said flatly, his gaze fixed equally on both women. "Josephine, Ellen, and Nioh will take care of the funeral arrangements. You two need me more. You are more important than any funeral."

".....?"

The two girls blinked, clearly taken aback by the weight of his absolute prioritization. The next moment, small, genuine smiles appeared on their faces—a reward for his simple, direct affirmation.

"Thank you," Star said gratefully, her hope renewed.

"Yeah. Yeah... Thanks," Jinx muttered, looking away to hide the small, rare smile stretching her lips.

"So, what’s your plan for tonight? Planning on destroying the whole village?" Sunny asked, his tone pragmatic.

"That will be good, I don’t like the place," Jinx instantly agreed, eager for chaos.

"No," Star interjected, her strategizing commander reappearing:

"There are innocent people in this village. We’ll wait and observe. We need to see everyone behind Voco—the Senator’s men, the traffickers, the full network. Then we can strike and take them all down in one full swoop."

"It won’t be that easy," Jinx countered, shaking her head. "This Voco seems like some dirtbag I’d dealt with in the past. They won’t back down easily, and innocent people will surely get caught in the fire."

"What are you saying? Are you forgetting we have God Wolf here?" Star whispered, gesturing toward Sunny, her confidence absolute.

"Oh." Jinx nodded in sudden realization, snapping her fingers. "I totally forgot about him."

"...?!"

Sunny raised an eyebrow at the two, clearly amused by their shared, casual reliance on his powers.
