Chapter 354: A New Cultivation Method
Chapter 354: A New Cultivation Method
Lux watched as Yened, Cohen, and the others rushed to the weapons research lab again.
She turned to Li Wei and said with a smile, "You’re truly incredible. I’ve noticed that almost every time you come to the Hall of Truth, our research makes a huge leap forward."
Lux joked, "If you lived here in the Hall of Truth, I bet you could solve problems that have plagued the Elemental Tower for hundreds of years."
"I should tell Professor Fang Lide to chain you to the Hall of Truth."
"I didn’t really do anything," Li Wei said. "You think too highly of me."
"You’re just being too modest," Lux replied.
Li Wei could only shake his head helplessly.
’He really hadn’t done much, just offered a single suggestion.’
’Yened and Cohen were the ones actually doing the research.’
’Li Wei had merely offered a spark of inspiration, a new direction.’
However, in magical research, inspiration is often more important than effort.
Magic delves into the very essence of the world and the rules that govern it.
A Mage’s inspiration often stems from a momentary glimpse into those worldly rules.
Ignoring the others who had left, Li Wei turned his full attention to the Radiant Spell Model before him.
After breaking through to Tier Four, he had gained the Arcane Enlightenment Extraordinary Trait.
Li Wei’s perspective on the Radiant Spell Model had changed completely.
Previously, he had thought the Radiant Spell Model was a composite model that blended the properties of several different spells.
Now, he saw it had nothing to do with so-called "mixed magic" at all.
It wasn’t fundamentally related to the Blast Flame Skill, Burning Skill, Holy Light Technique, or even the Radiance Skill.
The Radiant Spell was, in fact, simply magic composed of the Fire and Light Elements.
’Therefore, all he had to do was grasp the core principles.’
Li Wei began to reconstruct the Magic Model for the Radiant Spell.
This time, he based his work on the elemental level, constructing the Radiant Spell from the perspective of the Fire and Light Elements.
Instantly, the entire Magic Model for the Radiant Spell became much simpler and more streamlined.
Lux saw Li Wei pick up a blank sheet of paper and begin to draw, transcribing the Magic Circuit he had deduced in his mind into Magic Symbols.
Li Wei had once believed that Magic Models couldn’t be expressed through words, drawings, or language, which was why they had to be passed down on a mental level through Magic Books.
Now, he saw that wasn’t the case.
Even the most ancient magic could be passed down through writing.
However, Magic Texts and Magic Symbols were not widely known; they were a form of high-level, Extraordinary knowledge.
Ordinary people couldn’t understand them at all.
Forget ordinary people—even Mages would find it difficult to understand the incredibly complex Magic Symbols without having specifically studied them.
Most Mages in the Elemental Tower only understood a few simple Magic Symbols and Magic Patterns.
Only specialized Extraordinary Professionals, like the scholars of the Hall of Truth, Alchemists, and Array Masters, would study them in depth.
The simplest reason for using Magic Books to pass down magic on a mental level was their universal accessibility.
Even a novice Mage who didn’t understand Magic Symbols at all could easily learn a Magic Model through a Magic Book.
Gradually, Magic Texts and Magic Symbols became the exclusive script of researchers.
Lux picked up one of the diagrams to examine it. As expected, she could understand the Magic Symbols Li Wei had written.
A look of surprise crossed her face; for a moment, she couldn’t quite grasp what Li Wei was creating.
The diagram was completely different from the Radiant Spell’s Magic Model they had deduced so far.
It wasn’t until Li Wei had finished drawing all the diagrams.
Only after combining the Magic Circuits from all the diagrams did Lux see a completely new Magic Model take shape.
It was a Mixed Magic spell, one that required both the Fire and Light Elements for Casting.
Li Wei put down his pen and paper. "The Radiant Spell requires a combination of two Elements to produce its effect, making it inherently more difficult than single-element magic. A Tier Three High Level casting difficulty is the absolute minimum.
"Going any lower would mean weakening the Radiant Spell’s power, and the trade-off wouldn’t be worth it."
Lux was still studying Li Wei’s diagrams, lost in deep thought.
Li Wei began Casting. A few seconds later, a dazzling ball of white light materialized in his palm.
The light drew Lux’s attention.
She turned to look, her face a picture of astonishment.
"It worked on the first try?"
A brand-new Magic Model, perfectly successful on the very first attempt at Casting.
It was unbelievable.
Didn’t this mean that the Magic Model Li Wei had deduced was completely flawless?
This was simply inconceivable.
The creation of any Magic Model was an iterative process of refinement.
No one could produce a perfect Magic Model right from the start.
The first version of a Magic Model was bound to have all sorts of unexpected flaws.
But Li Wei had just shattered Lux’s assumptions.
He had actually deduced a perfect and complete Magic Model for the Radiant Spell in one go.
Never before had Lux seen anyone capable of such a feat.
Li Wei stretched out his hand and pulled at the ball of light in his palm, and the radiance transformed into a Laser Longsword.
"When the Light and Fire Elements are fused, they possess a certain malleability. With further development, it might be possible to create a branch of Shaping Magic with the Radiant Spell at its core."
Hearing this, Lux was stunned beyond belief.
He hadn’t just deduced a perfect Magic Model for the Radiant Spell; he had even pointed out the future path for developing its advanced magic.
Didn’t this mean that if Li Wei was given enough time...
...he could create an entire, brand-new system of magic based on the Radiant Spell?
In ancient times, that would make him like the founder of the entire Fire Element Magic System.
A Sect Founder Grandmaster.
Lux realized she had still underestimated Li Wei.
’If they could just chain a talent like him in the Hall of Truth to conduct research...’
’...the Elemental Tower would likely jump to the top spot among the five great Mage Towers.’
Until now, the Space Mage Tower had always held the top position.
Although the Space Mage Tower had the fewest members, all of its Mages were Space Mages.
Their abilities in every respect far surpassed those of Mages of the same tier.
By the time Lux snapped out of her reverie, Li Wei was already gone.
He had taken the newly created Radiant Spell Magic Model to find Fang Lide and claim his reward.
"Wait, you created a brand-new Magic Model for the Radiant Spell this quickly?" Fang Lide asked, his face a mask of astonishment.
After looking at the diagrams Li Wei provided, he attempted to cast the spell.
A dozen or so seconds later, a somewhat dim radiance appeared in Fang Lide’s hand.
His hands were trembling with excitement.
"It’s true. You actually did it!"
Fang Lide found it utterly incredible.
He stared at Li Wei and asked, "Don’t tell me you’ve been researching the Radiant Spell for the past few months?"
He was hoping Li Wei would say yes.
Otherwise, it would be too demoralizing.
Li Wei just smiled. "Of course. If I wasn’t researching the Radiant Spell, what else would I be studying?"
"So, what about that High Tier Cultivation Method you mentioned?"
Fang Lide took a deep breath. "Don’t worry, I’ll put in the application for you right away."
After he submitted the new Magic Model for the Radiant Spell to the Hall of Truth,
the Hall of Truth quickly verified its viability.
They delivered Li Wei’s reward.
Fang Lide gave Li Wei the High Tier Cultivation Method derived from "Sunshine."
