Chapter 38 is over.
Chapter 38 is over.
Before Li Wei could even touch the corpse, tiny tentacles emerged from the bullet hole in the principal's forehead, and he began to turn into a zombie.
But Li Wei wasn't stupid enough to just stand there and let him start the cutscene. He pulled out a grenade, removed the pin, and threw it at him.
He turned around, went out, and closed the door.
boom!
The door was blown away by the blast wave. Feeling uneasy, Li Wei pulled out two more grenades and threw them inside.
When the explosion happened again, Li Wei peeked out and saw that the zombie principal was now everywhere in the room.
Just then, the phone that Lao Wang had given me rang, and as soon as I answered, Lao Wang's excited voice came through.
"Brother, what are you doing! I can explain the gunshots as artillery fire, but how do you explain the explosion? Is it a war? Everyone's been woken up."
But Li Wei's voice was even louder than his.
"Fighting is a minor issue; this is a much bigger problem. You'd better go and guard the gate; don't let anyone leave."
"What! What happened... My God, look up at the sky!"
Red light shone into the room through the window. Li Wei rushed to the window and looked up.
The entire moon had become a black sphere, surrounded by a red halo that tinted the moonlight red.
Meanwhile, screams erupted from the student dormitory building.
Damn, Kro's Red Moon mode... I don't know if it's dragging the surrounding area into another dimension, or if the whole world can see it. If the whole world can see it, then this world is doomed.
But the chances are slim, since the phone still has a signal.
Li Wei still offered a reminder.
"Old Wang, call your friend who lives furthest away and ask him if he can see the moon. I'll come find you right away."
"What do you know?"
"Stop talking nonsense, hurry up."
He hung up the phone and rushed downstairs, calling out to his other underlings as he went.
"Quick, quick, everyone follow me, don't get left alone."
Upon reaching the first floor, he directed his underlings to set up a campfire, insert the spiral sword, and pull out a bunch of guns, instructing them to watch over the area and issue a gun to anyone who came near.
In this faculty building, whatever appears, if it's not one of our own, we'll kill it.
They ordered two men to guard the gate with rifles, preventing anyone from entering.
With the Spiral Sword in place, Li Wei was no longer flustered.
When they walked out of the faculty building, they found that Lao Wang hadn't gone to the main gate at all, but was standing with several other patrolmen.
Old Wang saw Li Wei and immediately came to greet him.
"What's going on? What do you know all the time?"
Li Wei calmly lit a cigarette and asked in return.
"Did you make the call? Can you see the black moon and red light outside?"
"Yes, you can see it from Tokyo as well."
Li Wei raised an eyebrow, deciding not to clean up the school anymore, since there were plenty of other places to do it outside.
"Then the world is doomed. Before things completely descend into chaos, eat or drink anything you want, or say goodbye to anyone you want to say goodbye to."
"It's over?"
"Yes, we're doomed."
Two gunshots suddenly rang out in the faculty building, followed by a series of gunshots.
Li Wei immediately pointed in the direction of the student dormitory and spoke.
"Make sure all the students gather on the playground, don't leave anyone behind or fall asleep. You adults should also go and maintain order."
The series of gunshots made Old Wang shrink back.
"Those are your people? Can't you give me an explanation?"
Li Wei tossed his cigarette butt aside and replied.
"There's no explanation; the more you know, the faster you'll die."
Turning back to the faculty building, Ken immediately came to greet him.
"Boss, everyone's here."
Li Wei asked as he walked inside.
"What's going on? Don't waste bullets."
Ken led Levi to the top of the stairs and pointed to the corpse, whose body had more metal than flesh.
"Boss, it's not that we're wasting bullets, it's just that these things are very difficult to kill with guns. We have to dismember them to kill them."
"It's not surprising that the Kremlin is hard to kill," Li Wei asked curiously, looking at the hundred or so people in the corridor.
"Weren't they all here? Why are there so few people?"
Ken answered immediately.
"Wood and the others went up to clear out those long-tentacle corpses; it's more cost-effective to use swords and spells than bullets."
Is that the Disheartened Guy here? Can't stand the loneliness and decides to come out and see this other world?
However, this is not the time.
"Everyone here, come with me. Two people stay to watch the campfire. Go out and don't kill anyone yet. Let's assess the situation first."
Before Li Wei could lead his men out, Lao Wang called again.
"Li, come quick and help! A student has turned into a monster!"
"Coming right away."
When they arrived at the dormitory building, students rushed out screaming, and some even jumped from the upper floors. Old Wang and several staff members were maintaining order at the stairwell with batons, but they themselves were almost scared to death.
Some braver students resisted with all sorts of weapons, but most of them died tragically.
"Spread out and eliminate those mutated corpses."
When Li Wei burst into a dormitory room on the second floor of the girls' building, the pink-haired loli was huddled in the corner, using a mop as a gun to hold back a female corpse whose neck was broken and whose head was hanging on one side, constantly waving its tentacles.
His eyes lit up when he saw Li Wei come in.
"Uncle, please help me, I can't hold on any longer!"
Li Wei picked up his rifle, rushed over, and hit a home run with a backhand, knocking the zombie to the ground. He then fired a burst of bullets.
Looking at the bewildered little girl, Li Wei chuckled.
"Young lady, the gun is the king of weapons, and the automatic rifle is the king of kings. The weapon in your hand is not up to par."
The pink-haired loli took a couple of breaths and took a deep look at the fallen female corpse.
"Where am I supposed to find an automatic rifle? Thanks, sir. My name is Goto Aki. This is terrifying. She was sleeping and suddenly turned into a monster."
Li Wei shook his head.
"The scary part is yet to come. This is just the beginning. The more we go, the more strange things will happen. Let's go down now."
"Uncle! I saw her move again!!!"
.....
On the playground, the students all squatted on the ground with their hands behind their heads, looking at Li Wei and his group of outsiders in horror. This was after they had shot and killed two idiots who jumped out to incite the students and try to reason with Li Wei by relying on their numbers.
If it were just a group of people with guns, it might not be this chaotic, but Li Wei's group had too much of a performance art feel to it.
People wearing knight armor and carrying rifles, people with swords and shields and covered in grenades, people in robes with staffs at their waists and rocket launchers on their shoulders... they don't look like normal people.
Li Wei stood on the playground, holding the megaphone that Lao Wang had kindly given him, and shouted to the students in front of him.
"Although I don't know how many members of the Liyue Cult are hidden among you, it doesn't matter now. If you want to live, listen to me."
First, from now on, smirking is prohibited, especially in group chats.
Second, you are not allowed to sleep in the light of the red moon. If you sleep, you will have to perform a SAN check. If you fail miserably, you will become a monster.
Moreover, even if you succeed, don't take any chances. The longer you stay in the red light, the higher your spiritual vision will become, so rest assured, you will get into trouble sooner or later.
Third, I am not a terrorist, but I am not a saint either. Those who want to leave can leave on their own, and I will take responsibility for the safety of those who want to stay.
But I don't support idlers; everyone has to work for me, that's all.
